The management of the Jefferson Theater is proud to announce our partnership with Dixon Disposal to handle all trash generated at the venue. Dixon Disposal hauls all of our trash to the state-of-the-art Van DerLinde sorting facility in Zion Crossroads, VA for sorting and recycling. With this partnership in place, you can safely toss your plastic cup or aluminum can into the same trash can while resting assured that both will ultmately pulled out of the waste stream and recycled.
We also have implemented other procedures to make sure our impact on the environment is minimal. Our plastic cups are all #1 plastic which has the largest market for being recycled. These cost us a little more, but we know they will have a second life after they leave the venue. We also have worked with our cleaning contractor to make sure that all cleaning materials used in the Jefferson have a minimal impact on the environment and do not contain harmful chemicals like chlorine.
Every little bit helps. We encourage all of our patrons to car pool, walk, or bike when coming to our venue and to think of other ways you can lower your impact on the earth.
Starr Hill Presents is proud to announce that Charlottesville’s Jefferson Theater will re-open on November 27, 2009 after an extensive three-year renovation.
