An ID is only required if you plan on drinking alcohol. Because we are an all-ages venue we take checking ID's very seriously. In compliance with Virginia laws anyone 21 and older who plans on drinking alcohol will have to show a valid, non-expired, government issued photo ID, no matter how old you think you may look. Anyone without proper ID, regardless of age, will be treated as under 21 and not allowed to buy, hold or drink alcohol. This policy is strictly enforced and any violation will result in immediate ejection from the venue.
Does the Jefferson Theater have seats?
Unless a show is advertised as seated, which is rare, our shows are general admission and standing room only on the Main Auditorium Floor. We do have two balconies that are seated that offer great views. Patrons with special needs should call 434.245.4910 in advance to make arrangements.

The time listed on your ticket and on the website is the door time, not the show time. Normally, the first set will begin one hour after door times. Set times vary and typically are not announced till the day of the show. Please keep in mind that set times, as well as opening acts, are always subject to change without notice.

Jefferson Theater is Proud to Go Green
The management of the Jefferson Theater is proud to announce our partnership with Dixon Disposal to handle all trash generated at the venue. Dixon Disposal hauls all of our trash to the state-of-the-art Van DerLinde sorting facility in Zion Crossroads, VA for sorting and recycling. With this partnership in place, you can safely toss your plastic cup or aluminum can into the same trash can while resting assured that both will ultmately pulled out of the waste stream and recycled.
We also have implemented other procedures to make sure our impact on the environment is minimal. Our plastic cups are all #1 plastic which has the largest market for being recycled. These cost us a little more, but we know they will have a second life after they leave the venue. We also have worked with our cleaning contractor to make sure that all cleaning materials used in the Jefferson have a minimal impact on the environment and do not contain harmful chemicals like chlorine.
Every little bit helps. We encourage all of our patrons to car pool, walk, or bike when coming to our venue and to think of other ways you can lower your impact on the earth.
